And what a magical party it was!
Here she is patiently waiting for her friends to arrive.
Here are a few close-ups of her table. (Of course I used our favorite buttercream recipe for the frosting. Never tried it?! You gotta give it a shot. You can find it HERE. You can thank me later.) :)
I was so excited for her to see these little guys. Bits o' scrap paper, glitter, and wool roving helped turn this itty bitty racoon, fox, and hedgehog into true party animals!
Once her friends arrived I sprinkled Magic Forest Dust onto their heads to turn them into their favorite woodland creatures.
And here they are, all ready to party it up!
(Here's a close-up of the masks. They were such a hoot to make! :) I found all but the deer mask at the Etsy shop, Little Hibou Shopp. You should make some! I switched up the colors and added printed fabric. I also sewed them on Mable, my trust sewing machine, instead of handsewing them. Had to make two extra for my older girls. They all continue to have fun with them, days after the party. As for the deer mask, I had to kinda wing it. Spent a lot of time trying to get the ears right. The ones I initally came up with on the drawing looked like fox ears, according to my Deer Expert Dad, so I made them a much bigger. :) )
Here they are playing Sneaky Snacky Squirrel. LOOOOOOOVE this game!
The birthday girl won!
After games we headed upstairs for snacks and dessert. Here my master storyteller husband is sharing a story about how he collected the Magic Bubbly Drink from Woodland fairies.
They loved it.
Especially her.
And here she is making her wish.
How I love my little girl! Cannot believe she is five. I'm so grateful for her and the joy and spunk she adds to our lives.
Happy Birthday, Jane!! xoxoxo
