Went to the Oregon coast today with the girls and a friend. What a beautiful day it was... not a cloud in the sky, and just enough wind for some kite flying. But only a bit.
And I didn't take one picture... not today. Today was a day to take in every second without the disruption of picture-snapping. I chose to live in the moment...to leave the camera home. I think that's a good thing to do every now and then.
Just me, the girls, my darling friend, pizza, ice cream, salt water taffy (loads of it!), carousels, waves, the sun (but not too much... you know me!), and smiles... many, many smiles.
xo,
Pamela
I like that you left the camera home for the day. I started leaving the pen and paper in the bag far more often as the years have passed, and have enjoyed my girls enjoying ME being with them more fully. Of course there will always be pen and paper and photos, but balance and "being" is good. Very good.

Thank you for your words sweet lady. You know I love taking pictures and capturing sweet moments, but it's kinda hard to fully "live in the now" when doing so. Yes, it's all about balance, baby!

I'm sure there are other times you wish you didn't have to post & just enjoy the moment!!!!!!! It's NICE to just enjoy the moment with your family & NOT share it with the world!!!!!!!!!! :)

Yes, that's true, and I suppose those are the days I don't post at all! If I go a few days without posting that's because I'm not pressuring myself to do so. :)

Sometimes it's the times you DON'T pick up the camera are the ones you remember the best. Always a bit hard, but sometimes so worth it. Hope all is well!
Love,
A.
