We're back from a fabulous family reunion to the mountains of Eastern Oregon, and what a fabulous trip it was! As soon as we arrived we were treated to a most delicious barbeque contest held between the guys, and us lucky ladies were the judges. :) My little brother Lane was the winner and was dubbed the ''King of the Grill''. Feast your eyes upon this mouthwatering dish--kabobs!
The next day a few of us set out for Blue Hole, a great swimming/fishing hole located on the Imnaha River, just 2 miles from our camp. It was a gorgeous hike.
Ladies and Gents, I present to you, Blue Hole...
And here is Aaron jumping off one of the cliffs!
SPLASH!!
Ashley enjoying the hike back to camp.
Later that night, lil' Clara's pants had problems staying in place so Papa (my Dad) made a pair of jazzy suspenders for her...lucky little gal!
She wore them with pride. hehe
Ashley and I enjoying a few quiet moments of knitting time.
Avery trying her hand at ''knitting''.
Swimming in the freezing cold river...it felt great!
Ashley and I made an attempt to carry on Mom's tradition of homemade dutch oven
Oregon Blackberry crisp.
I must say, it turned out pretty good!
I wish I could post all the pics I took (all 254 of them...sheesh! What did we
do before digital cameras?!) Needless to say we had an incredible time with our family. I think my favorite part of the trip was watching all the little cousins play and laugh together. It was wonderful watching new friendships form between these little people. I'm grateful for my family...here's a big hug to all of them!
I hope you are all enjoying your summer! Before I let you go I want to thank of all of you who have left such kind comments about our little baby girl...we cannot wait to meet her!
xoxo,
Pamela
