Last Thursday we pushed the pause button on the busyness of life and headed for Newport, Oregon for a couple days. What a fabulous time we had! Saturday morning we woke up and headed to Agate Beach for some beachcombing. Though we didn't find much, we got a kick our of our persistent little Jane--she insisted on wearing her swimsuit while the rest of us were bundled up (it is still winter here, mind you! crazy little girl.). But what a beautiful day it was--not a cloud in the sky--an extra little treat for us!
A trip to Newport Bayfront is always a must while there... we love watching the sea lions!
And visiting the candy stores...
and conversing with pirates. Arrrrrrrrrrgh!
Next we visited Nye Beach for some kite flying--Miss A was beyond excited to fly her new dragon she received for Christmas. I love how the sun rays turned out in these pictures!
And as if that wasn't enough excitement for the day, we snuck in a trip to the tide pools near the Yaquina light house on Cobble Beach.
The next day we visited the Newport Aquarium. What an amazing place it is!
And is it just me or can anyone else spot a pair of buns in the picture below?! hee hee
This next picture is for my siblings and anyone else who went camping with us at Cow Camp near the Crane Prairie Resevoir while growing up. (Remember those periwinkles we used to catch in the river to use as fish bait? Well here you go--I turned into one! ha haa! Apparently their called caddisflies. Who knew?!)
And one last thing. Miss A go her ears pierced in Lincoln City before heading back home! Is that exciting or what?! She didn't even flinch when they pierced her. In fact, my brave little girl sat still and smiled the entire time. (Though after it was done she said it really hurt.) Way to go Miss A!
Here she is right before the piercing...
And right after! Awww, my little girl. :)
Awww, yes, the Oregon Coast... one of my favorite places to be.
xo,
Pamela
