Mmmm Mmmm GOOD! Yes, making strawberry ice-cream with freshly picked berries is my kind of Sunday evening activity!
It started out with the girls taking turns stirring milk, cream, and sugar...
And the machine did the rest. Which honestly, I want to find a good old-fashioned ice cream maker, the kind you have to hand crank. I have fond childhood memories of us kids taking turns turning the crank around and around. Much more fun than an electric one in my opinion and can help build a little muscle along the way! But I'll settle for this one for now. :)
Miss C loved pouring the sliced strawberries in...
And loved licking the stirrer even more!
Happy mouths eagerly awaited this tasty treat after allowing the ice-cream to "ripen" in the freezer for a couple hours.
And speaking of strawberry desserts, last week we consumed towering strawberry shortcakes!
(Which, of course, called for us to break out the Strawberry Shortcake centerpiece from the girls' birthday last year.)
Sooo deliciously yummy! We've also made jam and pancake syrup.
Miss J digs the jam, don't ya think? hehe
Yes, summer is officially here!
Anyone else out there making goodies with strawberries?
xo,
Pamela
