What a wonderful day it's been! After cleaning up a bit I treated myself to a trip down to Portland to attend the OPA (Oregon Potters Association) show. So, so wonderful. I'm excited to show you the goodies I picked up but that'll have to wait because right now I need to announce the winner of the April Birthstone Giveaway! Thank you to all of you who entered! I loved all your suggestions. I think I'm going to have to host more giveaways like that. :) It was so hard deciding on just one name so I put my three favorite in my trusty little hat and pulled one out... Chris S., you won! Dew Drops is the new name of the Crystal Quartz earrings. Love it. Please email me your mailing info so I can send you your new earrings!
Alright now, who's ready for some new jewelry designs?? The shop is reopening Monday morning (May 2). I'm really excited about this new collection titled 'Spring Garden'. Tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and hyacinths are the inspiration behind these beauties. Please take note, these three necklaces are OOAK (one of a kind) and will not be duplicated--first come first serve! The gems I used represent different Spring flowers, along with a few extra special gems. What three things must a garden possess to spring growth? Sun, water, and soil! So each necklace contains an Oregon Sunstone (clear), a blue Apatite (a blue raindrop shaped briolette), and an Oregon Opal (a beautiful brown).
Personally, I think these necklaces would make wonderful Mother's Day gifts for all those mamas out there who luuuurve gardening. And what mother wouldn't want to receive a flower garden-themed necklace in a flower-adorned box?
Each flower ring slips right off the box for easy opening...
This first design contains a bounty of gems ($99)...
I love the large, faceted Green Amethyst... so sparkly.
And what's a garden without a cute little ladybug? I love this clasp. Sooo fun. A "handpicked flower" charm adorns each of the clasps in this collection. Just an extra special touch. :)
The second necklace is just as beautiful ($69)...
A white topaz set in an 18k bezel adorns this light green chalcedony gem and is topped with gorgeous gems. A faceted ruby briolette dangles perfectly asymmetrically from the side.
And what garden doesn't have a jolly little frog hopping about??
And last but not least, the third Spring Garden design ($49)...
A flower shaped Rose Quartz gem displays a white topaz gem set in a 18k bezel. A plethora of gems are poised atop.
A ladybug clasp decorates this delightful necklace.
Look at her little face...
Another handpicked flower...
But wait--there's a few more gifts that are perfect for Mother's Day! Do any of you have moms that love to sew? How does a handy, dandy pincushion sound? I made one earlier this month for Avey's birthday and thought I'd make a few extra for the shop. I know, I know, they're not jewelry related but still fun nonetheless. An inspirational pin adds an extra touch of fun. ($12)
They're made from vintage jello molds and fabric. (The jello molds are a recent estate sale find. The Mormon in me just couldn't resist them. Too bad I've never made the stuff before.) Marbles have been placed on the bottom to add some weight.
Again, each of these OOAK items will be available at 9:00 am Pacific time Monday morning, May 2. The shop will close back down Tuesday night and will not reopen until the first Monday and Tuesday in June.
