Whoah. I can't believe how busy we've been! Seriously--when was the last time I went this long without blogging? I think it was after Jane's birth.
We are having a great time getting ready for Christmas. I wish I could post some of the handmade gifts I've made, but the recipients would probably figure out which ones were theirs. However, I can let you in on a little secret... I've been refurbishing an old dollhouse for the girls for Christmas morning! My friend gave me it to earlier this month--it's one that was given to them years ago by their friend. I'm going to guess it was built in the 80's. I can't believe how much fun it has been! I'm wallpapering it tonight, or should I say "wallfabricing" it. I can't wait. I'll show you pictures once it's complete.
But I do have pictures of something else--the handmade ornaments I made for the swap! If you are still needing to make some ornaments for your tree or for gifts, you can follow this tutorial (just make them bigger, needle felt some balls to glue to the center, and add a loop of string for a hanger).
I'll post pictures of the ornament gifts I received later this week.
Oh, and I have to share with you my new favorite cupcake frosting tip! Yes, I'm still a fan of the swirl, but I love the smooth, round appearance the 9PT provides.
I made a bunch of these for a baby shower I hosted last week. I love me a good cupcake. But just to let you know, I looked for it at Michael's, but it was nowhere to be found. Luckily I discovered it at Portland's Decorette Shop. I love that store! Hopefully you can find one at your local cake shop.
Well, that's it for today. I hope you are enjoying your week! I would love to hear about any handmade gifts you're making!
xo,
Pamela, a busy little elf
